OPEN DAY on Saturday 7 October

Many thanks to everyone who supported our Open Day, especially our mediums Sue Burtenshaw, Jackie Curd, Amanda Elliot, Gordon Harley, Debra Killick, Hazel Martin, Gail Moffat, Lynne Page and Maz Sibanda and the support team Helen Igo, Michelle Lieberman, David Mason, Trish Tasker and Mark West. As a result of all their generous work those who came to the church were able to enjoy private sittings, demonstrations of mediumship and Hazel's talk on physical mediumship. Mark's lovely prints and photos, Jackie's gemstones, the tombola and tea and cake donations helped us to raise £539.50 for our building fund - thanks to everyone for a great day and a great result.

Harvest Festival Appeal

We held our Harvest Festival services on Sunday 22 October and collected a generous supply of groceries and £110 in cash donations for St Anne's Centre, Kemp Town, where help is given to homeless and lonely people in our community.  Many thanks to all who contributed to this very worthwhile cause.

Philosophy Group

The next meeting of our Philosophy Group will be on Saturday 25 November at 11 a.m. The group has been set up to enable those who are interested in the philosophy of our religion to get together to explore it and share ideas.

Demonstration of Transfiguration

Jason Anastas will be giving a Demonstration of Transfiguration at 7 p.m. on Saturday 18 November. Admission is £10 and is by ticket only which must be bought in advance. Places are limited so please buy your tickets soon.

Psychic Supper

It's that time of year again and time to book for our Psychic Supper on Saturday 25 November at 7 p.m. Places are £15 (£12 for church members) and this includes a 10 minute psychic reading, fish and chips, dessert and a quiz. Please book and pay in advance to come and join in the fun.

Open Platform

We will be holding another Open Platform in January 2018 instead of our usual Awareness Group meeting. This will provide an opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience of working publicly to demonstrate their mediumship or simply to come along to watch the demonstration. Admission is £1 payable on the door.

Charity Events in 2016

Our church is now a charity in it\'s own right but we continue to hold special events to raise funds for other charities. Last year on Saturday 5th March we got together with Brotherhood Gate and Brighton and Hove Central Spiritualist churches to hold a fund raising evening of mediumship in aid of The Martlets Hospice. It was a very enjoyable evening and mediums Ros Costello, Maz Sibanda, Louise Eaton, Amanda Elliot, Gordon Harley and Dorothy Young gave evidential messages with warmth, humour and love and we raised a total of £435 for The Martlets - a great result! You can see a report on the event in last April\'s issue of Psychic News.

On Saturday 30th July we hosted a fundraising event on behalf of the South Indian Community Trust. There were demonstrations of mediumship by Maz  Sibanda and Ros Costello, Louise Eaton, Amanda Elliot and Dorothy Young and £170 was raised for this worthwhile cause.

On Saturday 15th October we held a fundraising evening in memory of Stuart Curd. It was a super evening and a fantastic sum of over £1300 was raised for Stuart\'s nominated cancer charity. Our warmest thanks go to all who attended the event, our mediums Hazel Martin, Sue Burtenshaw and Samantha Duly, and all who generously donated raffle prizes and cakes for the refreshment table.

Our final fundraising event in 2016 was held on Sunday 23rd October when we collected a good supply of food and £118 in cash donations for St Anne\'s Centre in Kemp Town where so much good work is done to provide meals and offer support to those in our local community who are in need. Warmest thanks to all who contributed to this year's collection.

On Saturday 4th February 2017 we held a memorial service for Betty Horne, a well-loved and respected medium who was a member of our church. Betty was President of Brotherhood Gate church for over twenty years and served all the local churches and she is very much missed. Many warm tributes were given to Betty\'s work for the world of Spirit and £100 donated by those who attended was sent to The Martlets Hospice in memory of her.
